events by artelexia
Artelexia’s events and workshops have been a pillar of our loyal and growing customer base. What we initially felt were simple celebrations and opportunities to create together turned out to be hotbeds for community-building. From our Day of the Dead festivals to La Fiesta de Frida, craft workshops, book signings and fundraisers, our events have given way to a budding network of followers who find connection through a shared love for all things Mexico. While the pandemic brought our events to a hiatus, we hope to slowly bring them back safely in the future. Stay tuned!

For our third annual festival, we had the usual favorites (face painting, altars, local vendors, tastings, mariachi, and more!) But this time we enjoyed having some guests of honor, including the creator of the Millennial Lotería. We had a cookbook signing, kids crafts, and the local Holy Paleta with rich and freshly dipped ice cream bars.

To celebrate Frida Kahlo's 112th birthday, we hosted a beautiful al fresco dinner on a single 152' long dinner table! El Comal provided the delicious food & Kettner Exchange served up refreshing drinks! The menu included Oaxacan tamales with mole negro! Big thank you to Don Julio for donating the alcohol!

After the success of our inaugural Day of the Dead Festival, we brought back the popular food, drinks, music and of course, art! We also introduced more local vendors to the scene, danced along with the local ballet folklorico, and featured a stunning altar as the perfect backdrop.

We had the great honor of hosting and organizing North Park's first ever and now annual Day of the Dead Festival right in the heart of North Park, San Diego. We had food trucks, cerveza cantina, tequila and mezcal tasting, face painters, dj's, mariachis, artisan vendors, and lots of fun. Looking forward to many more!

We had the privilege of partnering with FIREHOUSE PB to host a fiesta fundraiser benefitting Mana de San Diego—Empowering Latinas through Education, Leadership Development, Community Service and Advocacy.
We hope to see you at our next event!
