Over the past 12 years, Artelexia has seen a great growth of people who believe
in its mission of sharing the vibrant culture of Mexico with the world.

From its initial stalls at the La Jolla Farmers' Market to its first brick-n-mortar space in Little Italy, Artelexia has thrived to what it is today: a dazzling shop at the intersection of culture, art and food in San Diego’s eclectic North Park neighborhood. We are proud to be one of the city’s most sought-after retail spaces by locals and visitors alike, lauded for our kaleidoscopic decor, stunning murals, and our carefully curated selection of Mexican gifts. While Artelexia has historically specialized in Mexican folk art, home décor and gourmet foods, our collections have grown to include books, stationery, jewelry, and a medley of accessories inspired in Mexican culture and iconography.

Today, we source our products from entrepreneurs in Chula Vista all the way to Chicago, and of course, straight from Mexico’s craft capitals. We are intentional about the vendors and artisans we showcase, always looking to promote small, women and Latinx-owned businesses. In so doing, Artelexia has also become somewhat of a springboard for Latinxs in the broader art community who are celebrating their identity and culture through creative means.

Over the last few years, Artelexia has enjoyed a strong and rapidly growing online and social media presence (follow us on Instagram @artelexia). This means we can share our love for Mexico with a wider audience, but also that you don’t have to be in San Diego to enjoy what we offer — we bring Mexico to YOU!

Our shop continues to evolve, along with the culture that inspires us, the customers who drive our selection, and the artisans and vendors who keep our shelves stocked with quality products. We are also continuing to adapt to the realities of our time, so stay tuned as we work on getting our workshops, community events and Mexico tours back up and running!
