Due to the natural and artisanal processes involved in the production of our handmade items, no two pieces will be the same. While there may be some slight variations in shape and color, the integrity and quality of the product will remain intact; Artelexia would never ship you an item we wouldn’t be proud to use and/or display in our own homes. We inspect all items before shipping and pack all orders with care.

I’ve waited over a year to purchase this bag specifically. Chef Marcela has promoted this bag multiple times and this store front being a woman owned business. Money is tight, I’m a single mom and use my money wisely. So I was excited to finally receive it! The lovely box and packing truly was exceptional. I was initially excited to order more items when I saw the box arrive in the mail. Once I opened the box, I was met with major disappointment. The style is not at all as shown! I’m familiar with these Oaxaca bags, I’ve owned a different style and realize they are handmade and unique. However, when it’s advertise as a beautiful diamond type weave pattern and you receive a plain one with a sharp bottom edge… well it’s disappointing. The money spent does not match the value of the bag received. Reached out to the owner / customer service. She advise I pay return shipping to exchange it. Not worth the added expense and time on my part for false advertising. Just beware if you are hoping to receive this particular style. Hope the owner makes this right.

We’ve reviewed the product listing and do not believe it was misleading, as it clearly notes that the woven design may vary due to the handmade nature of the item. That said, we recognize that we could have included more photos to help set clearer expectations, and that’s something we’re working to improve and will be including in the future. Additionally, the listing is no longer visible on our website because the item is currently out of stock and will not be restocked for a few months, not to hide or avoid feedback. Unfortunately, that means we are unable to offer an exchange at this time.
We also want to clarify our return policy: while all online sales are final, we do try to make thoughtful exceptions when possible. In those cases, we ask customers to kindly cover the return shipping cost unless the item arrives damaged or defective. As a small business, we absorb a large portion of the original shipping to help keep costs low for our customers, and offering free returns for non-damaged items simply isn’t sustainable for us.
That said, we truly want to bring this situation to a close in the best way possible. Although a chargeback was filed and is being processed by your payment provider, we will also issue a full refund from our end as a gesture of goodwill. You should see that reflected soon depending on your bank.
