Artelexia has been years in the making. My father and I have always known that we would start a business together, we just didn’t know what. We knew that we wanted something fun, where we could design and create pieces inspired by Mexico. Something that required travel, imagination and creativity. Something that we could love and nurture. Finally, after years of ideas being tossed back and forth the idea was born. I remember the moment; we were at Cowles Mountain in San Diego, CA, in the midst of our routine early morning hike. From there everything fell into place and Artelexia was created. Years back, my father had started to buy these scapulars from Mexico and give them to us to wear for protection and spiritual guidance. Our friends and family took a liking to them and started asking for them as well. We started to get requests on a regular basis. Little by little they had become quite popular. Our business concept was to start out small, selling products like these scapulars mainly from Mexico that were artistic and inspirational. Now, we are making our own designs and working with several artists to create our unique pieces. Our aim is to put forth meaningful pieces for our customers to enjoy and cherish.
