Artelexia would like to thank all of you that entered our Grand Opening giveaway! Unfortunately, we can only have one Grand Prize winner, and the winner is…Katy Morris! This is what she had to say about Artelexia.com, “I love the background and the entire look of the site. I think it really adds to the items you sell- but doesn’t distract you. I also like that you have the GoDaddy secure ticker at the bottom. That just makes people feel comfortable. The whole site is really clear and easy to navigate, too. Thanks so much for the awesome giveaway. Congrats on the grand opening!!!
” Thanks Katy for your comment and good wishes!
I hope that everyone had a nice Mother’s Day Weekend! I was extra happy to be here this year to spend the day with my mother, grandma and sister- definitely one of the perks of moving back to San Diego! We started out the day with a hike in Torrey Pines where my grandma surprised us by not only keeping up with us, but actually beating us back down the hill! After our hike we headed to the Beach Grass Cafe in Solana Beach for breakfast- so good. While we were waiting for our table I was flipping through the LA Times when I saw this perfect vacation dress from H&M:

Yummmm…This vendor of the week brings a few words to mind: heavenly, delectable, sweet and distinctive. I visit them every Sunday and kind of wish that I could figure out a way to get my mid-week fix! The first time that I went to the La Jolla Farmer’s Market I was fortunate enough to meet Adam and Derek from 410 Degrees. What is 410 Degrees you ask? Only the MOST delicious cookie company ever! Seriously, just thinking about their cookies is making my mouth water.
Red Velvet “Cake”
I am so craving a nice cold glass of milk right now with a few of these cookies. If you want some too, you can find 410 Degrees every Sunday from 9am-1pm at The La Jolla Farmer’s Market, or at http://410degrees.com. If you don’t try one of their cookies, or in my case several :), then you are truly missing out!
yummm….
Summer is just around the corner and I am on the lookout for some new sandals to show off my newly pedicured toes! Not that I am truly in need of more sandals, because I probably have way too many sandals as it is, but a girl can always use a new pair! I am loving these super cute beaded flat sandals that I found in this May’s issue of People Magazine Style Watch. Not only are they stylin, but affordable as well!
I also found these other sandals that would make a great addition to my wardrobe but not to my bank account! Plus I don’t even have anything purple to go with them.

As you can tell, my style can vary from what some might view as too colorful, to extremely classic and simple. Hope you like them all!

Good morning! I am in need of some coffee and heading out to my local coffee shop, Donny’s Cafe. Think I am going to get a Mexican Mocha this morning- I haven’t had one in years.
The key ingredient needed is the Abuelita Mexican Chocolate. Boy, does this little box of chocolate bring back memories of my childhood. My mom always used to make this for me, and then when she wasn’t looking, I would go into the cupboard and sneak a bite of these decadent bars of chocolate…yummmm.

I found this recipe via diynetwork.com.
Ingredients:
2 Tbs. Mexican chocolate, ground
1 shot espresso
14 oz. steamed milk
Powdered chocolate
Preparation:
In a glass, add the Mexican chocolate, steamed milk and espresso. Top with the steamed milk foam and garnish with powdered chocolate. Serve hot.
Yield: 1 serving
If you don’t have access to the Mexican chocolate you can try this recipe from coffee-recipe.com instead to get a similar flavor:
4 Servings
1 1/2 cups strong coffee
4 teaspoons chocolate syrup
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup whipping cream
1. Put 1 teaspoon of chocolate syrup into each cup
2. Mix Whipping cream, 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar.
3. Whip until you have soft peaks
4. Place the last 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon into coffee, and stir
5. Pour coffee into cups, stir to mix in chocolate syrup
6. Top with whipped cream mixture.
If you haven’t tried a Mexican Mocha you should go out right now and have one. Let me know what you think!
